What’s a Curl Specialist?

I have a special passion for curly hair! As a specialist, I have countless hours of training how to cut curly hair based on these characteristics: head shape, curl pattern, and moisture level. Check out my own personal curl journey to find out more!

What is the DevaCut ?

My cutting technique is an intuitive and technical dry cutting method specifically designed for the curlies around the world, inspired by the leading curly brands including DevaCurl. By working with your curls in their dry, natural state, we are able to achieve the best shape and length for YOUR curls- no two curly cuts are the same from curly person to curly person because each cut is specifically designed for your curl type(s) and head shape! Not only are your curls a deciding factor in your personal experience, but your lifestyle. We will have a thorough conversation to ensure that we are on the same page when it comes to who you are as a person and what your curls are to you personally

How do I prepare my hair for the day of the cut?

I ask that you arrive with clean (1st day curls!) hair, worn down without being stretched by headbands or ponytails. You can style your hair as normal that day, using your regular products with the exception of hairspray. If you are a highly textured hair type, please wear in a wash-&-go without oil based stylers.

How long is my appointment?

A fist time (Deva-Inspired) curly cut will last anywhere from 1 1/2 to 2 hours, including a lifestyle conversation, curl consultation, and a coaching session for at home care.

Returning Curly Cuts typically last 1 hour.

How often do I need to come back in? 

My cuts are known for their longevity, most Mint guests will come back anywhere from 8-16 weeks depending on their length, curl type, and shape.  It is all up to your personal lifestyle and goals.

Why don’t you list your phone number on your website?

Email is my primary method to communicate with clients. I don’t work with an assistant or a receptionist, so stopping to answer the phone takes away time from the client who is in my chair at that moment. I believe each person’s time is valuable and they deserve my undivided attention. I return all emails within 24 hours Tuesday through Friday.

Absolutely! I can't wait to work with you!

I can’t find an appointment on the weekends?

I currently don’t work on the weekends. I’m in my studio Tuesday - Friday. My first appointment begins at 9am and my last appointment typically begins at 4pm.

Do you ever cut men's hair? I don't see a listing.

I do if he is curly! All jokes aside, I do cut men's hair. However, male haircutting has never been a passion of mine, but shoot me an email and maybe we can work something out!

How do I book an appointment for my curly kiddo?

I do cut children's hair, but the prices and service time vary so widely! You are welcome to submit a photo of your child's hair, and we can discuss pricing and service time needed for your child's texture.
